The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club-Henderson Unit serves children 6-18. Henderson opened their doors in August 2019 as an Extension. The Club has grown at an exponential rate since opening. The Club's after school program averaged 87 children per day in its first month of operation with over 125 registered members. Beginning in January 2020, the Board of Directors voted the Henderson Extension would become a Unit allowing it to be open year-round. The Henderson Unit then began averaging over 120 youth per day in the afterschool program in the fall of 2020. Fast forward to March 2021, the Club currently has 296 Club members enrolled in the program.

A Look Inside The Club
National Boys & Girls Club Week
National Boys & Girls Club Week will kicked off on June 21st through June 25th. We can't wait to celebrate "Whatever it Takes to Build Great Futures"!
Check back on June 14th for our full activity schedule!
To support our families during this uncertain time, the Club began to sponsor Welcome Back Family Nights for Club members and their families!
Each Family Night provides a well-balaced meal and drink for each person that attends along with an activity everyone can participate in!
The reason is simple: Kids do well when their families do well. This has been the next step to help our families return to normalcy after the pandemic. It is vital to re-establish relationships with Club members' families and to allow interaction of staff with parents. The family nights will help to rebuild relationships with Club members' families. Our families have been faced with many hardships throughout this past year. The Family Nights program aligns with two of our five key elements: (1) fun and sense of belonging; and (2) supportive relationships.
KY Kids On The Block
Special thanks to Kentucky Kids on the Block for making a visit to help our club members understand what child abuse is, and the difference between child abuse and punishment. They learned the 4 types of abuse, and who they can go to for help!
Club members also focused on mental health. Members learned that life happens, but it is okay to slow down and ask for help. Practicing deep breathing helped members realize that it makes you feel better when you are overwhelmed.
Truth Talks Program
Club members (9-12) are enjoying several weeks of our Truth Talks Program presented by Mrs. Nikki Tabor from Marsha's Place. We are so thankful for her and her lessons at the Club. Marsha's Place believes that education is an essential part of becoming successful at whatever goals you are pursuing. They offer a variery of classes to help ensure your success!
Rotary of Henderson
We are so grateful for our Henderson community and their generosity! Rotary member, Alex Caudilll presented the Club with a $1,000 check on behalf of the Henderson Rotary Club. Thank you for your continous support to our community and club members!
