Our Vision

Provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach for every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrate good character and leadership, and live a healthy lifestyle.

About Us

The Owensboro Boys Club opened in 1967 in a building donated by Trinity Episcopal Church. The unit was soon renamed The Cliff Hagan Boys Club, in recognition of Cliff Hagan, an Owensboro native and standout basketball player at Owensboro High School, the University of Kentucky and in the National Basketball Association.

Over the years, the club grew and changed locations. In 1993, the club opened its programs and services to girls and became The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club. The club currently operates in three locations - The Mike Horn unit, the Wightman unit and the Spencer County, Indiana, unit in Reo.

Areas of Impact

Guiding Principles

1. Provide all Club members with high-quality Club programming that is safe, fun and makes a measurable difference.

2. Lead a national dialogue to advocate that every community in the US provide access to high-quality out-of-school-time programs and experiences that equip young people, especially those growing up in disadvantaged curcumstances, with the tools to succeed.

3. Recognize that no single organization can provide everything needed to enable youth to succeed, Boys & Girls Clubs must establish dynamic partnerships with public and private institutions, locally and nationally, to assure high-quality youth development experiences for all young people in America.
