June Summer Programming Recap 2024
Great Summers Start Here!
June was the kick-off to our 2024 Summer Programming! Our Club members were busy daily with activities, arts & crafts, special guests’ presentations, interactive games and so much more. We want to thank everyone who helped make our first summer month a success. Check out our picture galleries down below to see a glimpse inside our Club stories.
Great Summers start at the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club Ohio County Unit! We strive every day to plan and create engaging activities for all of our Club members. While our youth are having fun, they’re also learning valuable life lessons in our 3 Areas of Impact: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Our staff strive daily to help elevate our next generation of leaders, innovators and problem solvers. Thank you to everyone who gave us the opportunity for our Club members to join the fun at your place of business. They had a blast! We can’t thank everyone enough who helped make our first summer month one to remember for our youth. We can’t wait to see what July adventures our Club members will have next month. Be sure to check back soon!
Club Activities
In this picture gallery you will find: paper airplane contests, coloring contests, pool games, basketball activities, video games, and good character & citizenship skills. You’ll also see our “Deserted Island” Club activity. In this adventure our Club members ventured off on a boat ride when suddenly they were stranded on a deserted island. All they had to survive and protect them from the sun were items leftover in their lunch bags. They had to face many challenges before help could arrive. This activity helped engage our youth in the areas of teamwork, communication skills, and leadership.Â
Field Trips
In this picture gallery you will find: some of our offsite adventures. We were able to join the Ohio County Public Library for their Summer Reading program in the morning and then in the afternoon we headed to Brown’s Farm Fresh Produce in Hartford for some engaging outdoor activities. We also traveled to Owensboro to fellow Club site, Mike Horn Unit, for our group AG Day.Â
