Harvesting Dreams Program

AG DAY- June 20, 2024

Harvesting Dreams Program- The Harvesting Dreams Program is a multi-year grant that was awarded to the CHBGC Mike Horn Unit from Cargill. This grant will help serve all Club members from 6-18 years of age along with their families and will provide positive social opportunities, healthy lifestyles classes and programs, and improve their fitness and health, and provide new van transportation. This program will help us provide the following: 1) AG Days, 2) Parent/Family Cooking Classes, 3) Greenhouse Operations, 4) Farm to Table Dinners, and 5) a new Club van.
 
Through this grant opportunity, Cargill will help address the need for more exposure to healthy lifestyle options for both our Club members and parents. We hope to open our Club members’ minds to the job potential of the agricultural fields as well as the importance of healthy nourishment choices for a positive mental, emotional and physical well-being.
 
AG DAY– Our first AG DAY was one for the books! Our Club members had a BLAST learning and engaging in all of the different fields of agriculture. All of our Club sites from 4 different counties were able to celebrate together the importance of our AG industry. Check out all of their activities in the gallery below.
