Activities for the Week
We had SO many activities going on this week! Check out our daily themes and what our Club members achieved each day. A special thanks to our friends from ATMOS ENERGY! They sponsored our Fun Day Friday where we were able to provide a big blue party and enjoyed inflatables! Thank you ATMOS for helping sponsor our Club members to help them grow and succeed.

Mindful Monday…. Monday June 23
Opened the Door to a Healthy Living across the CHBGC organization! Here’s a list of activities our members participated in: In Owensboro, we participated in the BGC program, Healthy Habits, with our friends from Danheiser Fund For Kids and participated in several fun gym activities. Our members in Butler County practiced mindful breathing techniques, made a mindful breathing apparatus, and ended the day coloring mindful art projects to wind down before heading home.
Top Chef Tuesday. Tuesday, June 24
Opened the Door to the Future! We opened the door to the world of culinary arts; our Club members made delicious edible cookie dough. Throughout the organization we highlighted various career opportunities and spoke with our members on how to achieve their goals. In Owensboro our teens were busy with college visits and carpentry camp. Our younger members were entered into a drawing for their very own cookbook to explore the world of cooking and the culinary arts.Â
Wellness Wednesday. Wednesday, June 25
Open the Door to a Club! Wednesday was all about the impact our Club has made on the community throughout the years including our Alumni. In Owensboro some of our summer programming staff were once Club members themselves. They have now returned as CHBGC Alumni to give back and work with tomorrow’s leaders. Mr. Will, Ms. Kindra, and Ms. Lizy loved the Club growing up and couldn’t wait to give back to our youth! Across the organization, our Club members took on a new wellness challenge through playing Just Dance and participating in Would Your Rather workouts! Who says working out can’t be fun?!Â

Tournament Thursday. Thursday, June 26
Open the Door to Team Spirit! Today was all about celebrating teamwork through competitive gaming and traditional sports. This helped emphasize leadership, strategy, and collabortion building skills. Our members were competitive in foosball tournaments, kickball and ESPORTS.Â
Fun Friday. Friday, June 27
Open the Door to Taking the Lead! We ended the week with an all-out BLUE day to celebrate the leadership in our Clubs. In Owensboro, our members enjoyed inflatables, and a special treat made possible by our friends at ATMOS Energy.Â
