Celebrating Growth, Community, and Great Futures at the Ohio County Unit
As we wrap up an incredible 2025–2026 school year at the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club – Ohio County Unit, we’re taking a moment to reflect on everything our members, staff, families, and community partners have helped us accomplish. This month’s Club Newsletter is overflowing with the energy, curiosity, and connection that make our Club such a special place for young people to learn, grow, and thrive.
A Year of Learning, Laughter, and Leadership
From the first day of school to the final weeks of spring, our Club members have shown tremendous resilience and enthusiasm. They’ve built new friendships, discovered new interests, and stepped into leadership roles that make us proud every single day. As we look ahead to summer, we’re excited to welcome everyone back for a season filled with adventure, enrichment, and unforgettable memories at our 2026 Summer Camp.
Hands‑On Learning and Everyday Wins
This month’s Club Life highlights some of the creative and educational activities happening across our program spaces:
-
STEM Room Butter‑Making: Members rolled up their sleeves and churned butter by hand, learning firsthand how everyday foods are made.
-
Teens in the Great Outdoors: Our teen group enjoyed a lively game of Concentration outside — a perfect mix of teamwork, strategy, and sunshine.
-
LEGO Champion Alert: Congratulations to Alice, who took home the win in our LEGO competition with an impressive creation.
-
Reading with Mrs. King: It’s always a good day to visit our reading corner, where members enjoy one‑on‑one time exploring new stories.
These moments may seem small, but they build confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
A Night to Remember: The Great Futures Dinner
One of the biggest highlights of the month is our upcoming Ohio County: The Next Chapter – Great Futures Dinner on April 30th at New Assembly Church. Guests will enjoy a catered meal from Perdue and the Ohio County FFA, hear powerful Club testimonials, and get a first look at exciting announcements about the future of our organization. Events like this help fuel the mission that drives everything we do — creating safe, supportive spaces where young people can reach their full potential.
Celebrating the People Who Make It All Possible
Our community is the heartbeat of our Club, and this month’s newsletter shines a spotlight on the individuals and partners who help us build great futures:
-
Board Member Spotlight: Erin Erin’s leadership and generosity through her role at Perdue have made a tremendous impact on our programs. Her dedication to connecting us with resources and supporting our mission is deeply appreciated.
-
Community Partners From the Ohio County Family Wellness Center to the Public Library, local farms, parks, and so many more — our partners help create meaningful experiences for our members all year long. We couldn’t do this work without them.
-
Volunteer Opportunities We’re always excited to welcome new volunteers who want to make a difference. Whether you’re interested in helping with daily activities or supporting special events, your time and talent help shape brighter futures for our youth.
Looking Ahead
With summer just around the corner, we’re gearing up for a season full of exploration, creativity, and connection. From June 1 through July 24, our Summer Camp will offer hands‑on learning, outdoor fun, and opportunities for members to discover new passions.
And mark your calendars — Stomp and Holler will begin October 2–3 for a new, exciting and unforgettable fall celebration.
